Summer Camp 2018

Defense  Cost: $100.00
The Defense Sessions provide specialized instruction in primary defensive positions (1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF). Please pick ONE position to work on. Participants are grouped by position and taught by the UT players and coaches. There is NO pitching or catching instruction in this clinic. (We recommend that pitchers attend the Pitching Session and catchers attend the Catching session.  Then campers can pick a secondary position for the Defense Session). Bring glove, cleats, and tennis shoes. Limit of 60 campers/session.

Hitting Cost: $110.00
The Hitting Sessions are 2 hours and 15 minutes.  They provide the mechanics of hitting and specific hitting drills.  Please bring your own bat, helmet, batting gloves, cleats, and tennis shoes.  Campers will be divided into groups based on their age.  Limit of 60 campers/session.

Catching  Cost:  $60.00
The 1 hour and 15 minute catching clinic was implemented to allow catchers to work on their catching, blocking and throwing techniques and then choose a secondary position at the defense camp.  Catchers must bring their own catching gear.  Limit 40 campers/session.

Pitching  Cost: $100.00
Futures Pitching focuses on the beginning stages of pitching and the refinement of the camper’s basic mechanics. Two pitches are the focus: fastball & change-up.  Prospect I & Prospect II Pitching is for older campers and focuses on more advanced pitches.  Please bring a catcher (catchers do not need to sign up for the pitching clinic). This person could be your teammate, sibling or parent. Catchers younger than age 18 must wear a mask.  Bring glove, cleats and tennis shoes. Limit of 50 campers/session.  *Coach Clark will only be at the July and August camps.  Our volunteer coach will lead the June session.

Strength & Conditioning/ Speed & Agility  Cost: $50.00
The strength & conditioning and Speed & Agility sessions are new to our summer camp format.  The University of Texas softball strength & conditioning coach, Melissa Schmitz, will lead this session.  The program is a system of progressive drills, exercises, and instruction aimed at developing a faster, quicker, stronger and more agile athlete as well as developing motor development for any age group. The camp will be speed, strength and agility based, focusing on drills and activities that are a must for any athlete. Speed, strength and agility play an important role in motor coordination, acceleration, balance, change of direction and reaction time for all ages, at all levels.  A minimum of 10 campers are needed for this session.  Limit of 30 campers/session.
